Enterprise AU/NZ payroll (MYOB)

PayGlobal payroll: a configurable engine, delivered through partners

The short version

PayGlobal is MYOB's configurable enterprise payroll engine for larger Australian and New Zealand organisations, with native rostering and time and attendance, typically delivered through partners. No end of life has been announced as of October 2026 – it is a different product from MYOB Exo Employer Services, which does have an announced end of support.

MYOB PayGlobal built its reputation as a deep, highly configurable payroll engine for complex, high-volume, multi-award workforces across manufacturing, construction, healthcare, retail and other sectors. Its native rostering and time and attendance modules are a genuine strength for organisations that want those inside the payroll system.

Under MYOB, PayGlobal has continued to develop: STP Phase 2, staged Payday Super releases in March and June 2026, NZ payday filing and tax updates, a MYOB-hosted PayGlobal Online option, and a REST API for PayGlobal Online integrations. It can be deployed on-premise or hosted by MYOB, with implementation and outsourced processing commonly delivered through partners.

The considerations are delivery and support model rather than engine depth. Award interpretation depth depends on how your system is configured, a dedicated pre-payslip variance layer was not found publicly, and support runs through MYOB and its partner network. Test PayGlobal against your award and EBA scenarios and confirm who is accountable when something needs fixing.

Why do AU/NZ teams look at alternatives to PayGlobal?

  • Award and EBA depth depends on configuration – test it against your own scenarios
  • Implementation and outsourcing commonly run through partners rather than one accountable team
  • No dedicated pre-payslip variance layer found publicly
  • PayGlobal is one of several payroll products in MYOB's portfolio, from small business to enterprise

Affinity: 40+ years of AU/NZ payroll – 500,000+ employees processed, ISO 27001 certified, single AU/NZ database.

What's involved in moving off PayGlobal?

Moving off PayGlobal usually means unpicking years of configuration and partner arrangements, not just exporting data.

  • Configured award rules and interpreters – document what's been built into your PayGlobal configuration over the years
  • Rostering and time and attendance – if you use PayGlobal's native modules, plan how roster and time data moves too
  • Partner arrangements and NZ payroll – implementation, support or outsourced processing contracts with MYOB partners (and their notice periods), plus Holidays Act leave history, KiwiSaver and payday filing continuity
  • Year-to-date balances and STP – earnings, tax and super for the year to date, so STP continues without duplicate income statements
  • Parallel runs and timing – how many pay cycles to run side by side, and whether to switch mid-year or at 1 July

Build agreed before you commit, two parallel pay runs minimum, and most projects reach first go-live in 3–4 months (indicative) – how Affinity migration works →
